Salary Scale : $101,247 - $121,995 annualized salary plus benefits

Position Description :
The Director of Community and Social Services is responsible for all aspects of the programs and services within their purview.
The Director works closely with all stakeholders to ensure the efficacy, efficiency and effectiveness of the program.
The Director, as a member of the Senior Leadership Team, collaborates and contributes to the overall strategic and operational management of the Sandy Hill Community Health Centre.
The Director contributes to the mission and exemplifies the values of Sandy Hill CHC by ensuring innovative, responsive and integrated services and programs, a broad understanding of the social determinants of health, collegial support, cooperation and client participation.
Reporting Relationship :
The Director of Community and Social Services is directly accountable to the Executive Director. The Director is responsible for meeting the licensing and regulatory requirements of their professional governing body, if one exists.

Skills, Education and Experience :
Requirements for this position include :
Education and Language
- A Master’s degree in social work, health administration, social sciences, another relevant disciplineor depth of equivalent experience
- A clinical background in substance use treatment, social work, counselling / psychotherapy or case management considered an asset
- Under the Centre’s designation to provide French Language Services :
- French (oral expression) : Advanced
- French (oral comprehension) : Advanced
- French (reading comprehension) : Intermediate +
- French (written comprehension) : Intermediate +
- Fluency in English, both oral and written
Professional Experience
- Five years’ experience in managerial and progressive leadership roles in a health environment
- Experience in managing and working with a multi-disciplinary team including medical and allied health professionals
- Experience managing programs and services for people with substance use disorders, concurrent disorders and complex health and social needs
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Demonstrated leadership, management and supervisory skills
- Deep understanding of the social determinants of health, harm reduction, health promotion and community development
- Knowledge of quality improvement and program evaluation methodology
- Strong administrative, organizational and analytical skills
- A collaborative approach to problem solving and change management
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated skills in partnership development and stakeholder relations
- A commitment to community based, interdisciplinary, coordinated and integrated services
- Ability to translate vision to action, strategy to operations
- Leadership skills in equity, diversity and inclusion
- Demonstrated ability to manage fiscal resources
- Client engagement and co-design skills
- Understanding of, and commitment to client-centered and harm reduction frameworks for service provision

Conditions of Employment :
Hours of work will be developed in collaboration with the successful candidate to ensure a healthy work-life balance. A schedule of work will be based on the Centre’s hours of operation and program requirements and may include some evenings.
