Who we're looking for
The Technical Writer (Content Designers) helps enrich user experience by providing context and meaning to our clients' web pages while championing brand personality.
The ability to collaborate with Research, UX, UI, and Production teams across various shared platforms and outputs is critical to the role.
The Technical Writer's (Content Designer) role has a significant impact on improving the user experience by providing context, meaning, and brand personality to client web pages and other digital content.
Our Experience Design (XD) department offers end-to-end product and service design, with in-house practices including Research, UX, UI, and Content.
The Technical Writer (Content Designer) collaborates closely with these teams to provide thoughtful and strategic content that enhances user experiences and elevates client products and brand experiences.
Responsibilities
- Shadow and contribute to Content Design projects by taking on actionable tasks, consolidating and reviewing inputs, and collaborating heavily with teammates and practice leads.
- The key area of focus is on "learning by doing". Active participation in as many teamwide and client-based touchpoints as possible is key to enhance UX and produce high-quality content
- Collaborate with Research, UX, UI, and Production teams to enrich the user experience and champion brand personality.
- Create content for interface language, educational materials, naming, and information architecture, adhering to established content guidelines on voice, tone, grammar, and inclusive language.
- Help maintain Content Guidelines for clients under the guidance of the Content Design Lead and with the support of the Creative team.
- Work closely with designers and use industry-leading tools like Figma to ensure meaningful and useful content delivery.
- Produce production-ready copy decks efficiently, occasionally adapting variations for alternative or localized content.
- Act as an organized and adaptable team member, thriving in highly collaborative, cross-functional product teams.
Requirements
- Competent writer and editor who can also help test and improve content making user experiences meaningful and useful
- A writer who can create content for interface language, educational materials, naming, and information architecture (navigation, nomenclature, terminology, taxonomies)
- A stickler for details who can follow established content guidelines around : voice and tone; grammar and mechanics; accessible and inclusive language
- An organized team member who can help maintain Content Guidelines for our clients, under the guidance of our Content Design Lead and with the support of our Creative team
- An adaptable writer who is comfortable working closely with designers and applicable, industry-leading tools such as Figma
- A writer who can efficiently create production-ready copy decks, with occasional variations for alternative or localized content
- A team member who can work with highly collaborative, cross-functional product teams
- A writer comfortable with planning content for back-end or CMS authors, considering data constraints and quality of content inputs to yield the best outputs on the front-end for end-users
Nice to haves
- Experience designing for automotive and / or eCommerce
- Experience in designing for Accessibility (WCAG AA)
- Experience working within an agency or consultancy setting
- Experience working within an Agile delivery framework
- Experience with the Atlassian Suite : Confluence, Jira
