Lead the BI and Analytics Service team from business discovery and prioritization through solution delivery, adoption, and ongoing service improvement.

ACTIVITY

DESCRIPTION

BI Team Leadership and Performance

Set clear team objectives, individual responsibilities, delivery expectations, and development plans. Allocate work based on business priorities and capacity. Coach team members, conduct regular performance reviews, address performance gaps, and support recruitment, succession, cross-training, and backup coverage.

Business Partnership and Progress

Maintain regular engagement with business leaders and customers of the analytics service. Understand each function's objectives, initiatives, progress, operating challenges, and upcoming decisions. Translate these needs into analytics priorities and proactively identify opportunities to improve growth, profitability, efficiency, and customer service.

Requirements and Delivery

Own the BI demand intake and delivery backlog. Agree scope, KPI definitions, acceptance criteria, priorities, and timelines with stakeholders. Manage dependencies, capacity, risks, and changes; provide transparent progress updates and escalate blockers. Ensure business validation, user acceptance testing, and sign-off before release.

Reporting Quality and User Experience

Set standards for dashboard clarity, consistency, accessibility, navigation, responsiveness, and usefulness. Ensure reporting is tailored to executives, functional managers, and operational users. Review prototypes with users, validate results, and use feedback and usage evidence to improve the experience and retire redundant reports.

Technical Direction and Development

Stay current with Power BI, visualization, analytics practices, and relevant AI capabilities. Evaluate new capabilities through focused pilots and business cases. Guide design and technical reviews, reusable reporting patterns, and performance improvements within enterprise architecture, security, and governance standards.

Service Reliability and Governance

Ensure refresh monitoring, incident triage, problem resolution, release controls, and support documentation are in place. Agree service expectations with stakeholders and track performance. Partner with data owners, the Enterprise Data Architect, and data engineers on KPI consistency, data quality, access controls, audit evidence, and root-cause remediation.

Adoption and Continuous Improvement

Lead user training, communication, and change adoption. Build business analytics capability and governed self-service reporting. Review service and team performance regularly, gather stakeholder feedback, remove delivery bottlenecks, and demonstrate measurable improvements in reporting effort, adoption, and decision support.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Engineering, Business, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or enterprise reporting, including 3+ years leading a BI or analytics team and managing delivery and performance.
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop BI professionals; establish clear expectations; manage competing priorities; and build a collaborative, accountable team.
  • Strong practical Power BI knowledge, including dashboard design, DAX, Power Query, semantic models, reporting security, refresh management, and performance optimization; able to review technical solutions and guide the team.
  • Solid understanding of SQL, dimensional modeling, data integration, data quality, and governed analytics, with experience collaborating across architecture teams.

  • Experience improving user experience and adoption through stakeholder discovery, prototypes, usability reviews, training, and ongoing feedback.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain business insights, technical tradeoffs, delivery risks, and resource needs to business leaders and global teams.
