SALES MANAGER

JOB OVERVIEW

Develop business through direct sales solicitation for Association and Trade Show Markets.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO :

Establish a client base of individuals, organizations, associations, social, and / or corporate businesses through direct outside and inside selling to secure business for the hotel to ensure that room night sales and revenue goal are met or exceeded.

Actively prospect and qualify new business.

Negotiate guest room rates, meeting room rental, function space, and / or hotel services within approved booking guidelines.

Accurately produce and / or review all sales contracts, rate agreements, and / or banquet / catering event orders.

Work closely with other hotel departments to facilitate services agreed upon by the sales office and prospective clients.

Disseminate sales-related information to other departments as appropriate.

  • Arrange and conduct special events, site inspections, and off-site presentations for potential clients. Entertain clients per established company and hotel policies and guidelines.
  • Conducts tours of the hotel and banquet facilities; entertains qualified potential clients per company and property policies and procedures.
  • Accurately forecasts all bookings and cancellations.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with key clients to produce group and / or convention business.
  • Attend and represent the hotel at trade shows and conventions and / or participate in sales trips to key feeder markets.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

A minimum of two years of experience in sales or marketing, or an equivalent combination of education and practical experience.

A related degree is desirable. Previous experience in hotel sales is advantageous.

  • Fluency in English is essential, while proficiency in other languages is desirable.
  • The role entails the ability to undertake the following tasks :
  • Engaging in marketing activities both within and outside the facility.
  • Handling and transporting items weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Remaining stationary for extended periods.
  • Handling various objects with attention to detail.
  • Ability to travel for workshops, trade shows, conventions, etc.
  • A valid driver's license and access to personal transportation may be necessary.
