Safety Advisor

Reports to : Construction Safety Manager

Essential Functions :

Expectation that they will help in supervision in any way possible. For example, walking around the job site, stopping the work if have seen anything dangerous happening and reporting it to supervision and manager.

Some responsibilities include but not limited to : Promote Safety throughout Mosaic, administration of EHS Program, promote the highest level of safety throughout Mosaic Transit group, provide direction and support for all supervisors regarding their responsibilities for maintaining safety discipline, ensure all workplace parties fulfill their responsibilities for the EHS program, have good working knowledge of WSIB policies and participate and support pre planning stages of projects, assist in the management of worker’s compensation claims.

Required Knowledge and Abilities :

• Working knowledge of the Health and Safety Act and Regulations for Construction projects.
• Preferred National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO).
• Familiar with construction terminology.

• Must be a leader of safety excellence, resourceful, organized and understand the principles of Health and Safety Management, industry best practice and provincial Health and Safety legislation

• Knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements that govern worker health and safety , physical assessment and ergonomic skills;

Qualifications :

• Valid G drivers licence.
• Minimum 2 years experience in construction Health and Safety.

Working Conditions / Physical Effort :

• Full time on the construction site.
