Job Overview

ABM is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Early Childhood Assistant Program Instructor to support the daily operations of our early childhood education program.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about teaching, have a deep understanding of their subject area, and be committed to helping students achieve their career goals.

Duties

  • Deliver engaging and effective instruction in Early Childhood Assistant program to students.
  • Develop and update course materials, including syllabi, lesson plans, and assignments.
  • Assess and evaluate student performance through quizzes, projects, and other assessments.
  • Provide constructive feedback and support to students to facilitate their learning and growth.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and progress.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to curriculum development.
  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices to ensure course content is relevant and up-to-date.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
  • Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum to stimulate children's cognitive, social, and emotional growth
  • Provide a nurturing and supportive environment for children to thrive
  • Plan and conduct activities that promote physical, mental, and social development
  • Monitor and assess children's progress and communicate effectively with parents
  • Maintain a clean and organized classroom conducive to learning

Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree or college diploma in Early Childhood Education from a registered institution in Canada with a minimum of five (5) years current working experience as an Early Childhood Educator in Canada
  • Current membership in the provincial association for Early Childhood Educators.
  • Knowledge of early childhood education principles and practices
  • Results-driven, self-motivated, and detail-oriented.
  • Strong organizational, research, and accuracy skills.
  • Sharp listening skills and critical thinking.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communications.
  • Must have sensitivity and ability to successfully interact with diverse populations.
  • Committed to quality and a thorough approach to the work.
