Software Engineer - Application Support

This Software Engineer role is responsible for managing application support processes, small enhancements, and day to day operations of our applications, providing thought leadership, navigating us through production issues and investigations, and being a key advocate of efficiency and continual improvement as we work to modernize

Is this role right for you?

  • Ensure stability of our application and tech ecosystem
  • Lead support process, investigations, root cause analysis, communication, and ensure deployment of fixes as per the priority of incidents and problems
  • Utilize internal defect tracking tool to allocate and track incidents and problems, and create detailed, high quality error reports
  • Connect with users, product owners, developers, testers, other engineering teams as needed in resolving the incidents and problems
  • Design and development for smaller enhancements on various technology platforms being used in the team - Java, APIs, Power BI, Talend ETL and Salesforce
  • Stay abreast of modern technologies and best practices, and recommend introduction of new technology and processes
  • Address security, reliability, availability, stability, and currency risks associated with the portfolio
  • Act as the Subject Matter Expert on support and maintenance matters

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role?

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in supporting enterprise systems using Service Now or another tool
  • Good knowledge of Java, APIs, Spring Boot
  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, RDBMS
  • Familiarity with integration patterns using REST and SOAP APIs, Talend OR Informatica ETL platforms, MuleSoft, Kafka etc.
  • Knowledge of deployment processes and release pipelines. E.g. : Jenkins, Bitbucket / Git
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent required
  • Strong communication skills

Preferred Requirements :

  • Ability to work in cross functional teams
  • Experience in agile methodologies like SCRUM / Kanban

Familiarity with cloud platforms
