What is the opportunity?
RBC Investor Services has an opportunity available for someone looking to build their foundation for a career in Investor Services.
In this role, you will be responsible for working with a dynamic team processing transactions within our Securities Lending Operations team.
Close coordination is required with Front Trading Desks and other internal & external stakeholders. Other responsibilities include collection of borrower lending fees, client revenue processing and reconciliation across all platforms and systems.
Additionally this desk will be required to support the Bank of Canada Triparty program.
What will you do?
- Perform asset valuations on loan and collateral positions to ensure RBCIS and its clients are protected
- Manage the policy adherence and risk monitoring functions.
- Monitor all system records for collateral transactions to ensure integrity of balances.
- Maintain relationship with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate actions related to Securities Lending operations.
- Manage relationship with counterparties, internal trading desks and Securities Lending teams.
- Complete investigations, analysis, and solution implementation where applicable.
- Proactively assessing client and business requirements, coordinating appropriate solutions
- Acting as a change agent, embracing and facilitating change across operational processes and technology enhancements
- Review processes, procedures and control to ensure they are fit for purpose, look to automate using existing or new technologies where appropriate
- Maintain a strong working knowledge of market practices
- Collection of borrower lending fees, client revenue processing and reconciliation across all custody platforms
- Support the Bank of Canada Triparty program
- Review and update client rule sets to ensure appropriate processing of loans and collateral
What do you need to succeed?
Must have :
- 3+ years of experience in financial instruments, capital markets and operations.
- Demonstrated strategic team player with the ability to grow and motivate others
- The ability to adhere to high levels of accuracy in a fast paced environment
- Strong MS Office knowledge Process and time management skills
- Advanced usage of MS Office Word and Excel (vlookup, pivot, macro)
Nice-to-have
- VBA coding and macro development is an asset
- Operational and Client Service Experience
- Securities Lending experience
