POSITION SUMMARY
The Assistant Project Manager will work alongside the Project Manager assisting with the management of project schedule, budget, and procurement.
Resolve conflicts and coordinate between different contractors and consultants.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create change orders and purchase orders
- Ensure lessons learned from previous projects are incorporated into the drawings
- Review consultant reports and ensure they are incorporated into the drawings
- Ensure building permit comments are incorporated into the drawings
- Create tender scope and tender analysis for review by PM
- Coordinate construction of sales centre, if needed
- Review pricing of extras and credits
- Manage the coordination of site instructions between other consultants and trade shop drawings
- Create contractor contracts for review by PM
- Set up pricing for purchaser upgrades
- Audits site team’s safety documentation and ensures all documentation required is on file
- Chairs project meetings and ensures minutes are properly recorded and issued
- Assist with preparing preliminary costing and product analysis during the design development phase
- Incorporate contractor feedback from the tendering process into working drawings
- Assist with securing agreements, site plan agreements and buildings permits
- Assist with creating traffic and construction staging plans
- Perform all updates to project budget and schedules (Master schedule, finishing schedule, occupancy / move in schedule )
- Manage the technical audit deficiency process and its timely completion
- Update project plans such as shop drawing log, tender matrix, contract log
- Assist with monthly invoicing
- Assist with utility issues, especially during preconstruction phase
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- 5 years of project coordination or assistant project management experience, ideally completed 1-2 multi-family projects
- A university or college degree in a related field of engineering, construction management or architecture
- Experience using Procore, Microsoft Project, Bluebeam and Excel
- Empathetic, curious and enthusiastic personality
- Excellent organizational skills with an ability to multitask
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong team player, who is open minded and willing to roll-up their sleeves to help out wherever necessary
