Description
Designed to fit with the work demands of students undertaking summer jobs, this course enables students to work at their own pace to write and edit a legal memo, guided by online interim assignments that take approximately three to ten hours a week to complete.
The course emphasizes applying feedback and reflection to continuously improve student work. The Professor leads students through an editing workshop and meets them individually to give feedback.

Requirements :
The Common Law Section is seeking candidates with extensive experience writing both predictive and persuasive legal documents and giving oral and written feedback on writing.
Experience teaching legal writing and experience as a mentor is an asset. Candidates must be willing to use active learning strategies and provide extensive feedback on multiple assignments.
Writing professors work as a team directed by the Legal Writing Academy. Candidates may be interviewed.
The Common Law Section reserves the right to select a candidate who does not fully meet each of these requirements, where the candidate’s selection would be beneficial to the program, the course, the students or for a related reason.
An acceptable level of education and / or experience could be viewed as being equivalent to the educational required and / or demonstrated experience.
