Job Description

  • We are looking for a brilliant legal mind to join our growing global legal team. As a key member of our team, you will support legal matters for our Copperleaf business, reporting into its Head of Legal who is based in the United Kingdom.
  • Your primary responsibility is to support our global go to market teams including sales and consulting, and additionally, partner and supplier matters.
  • You will thrive in a fast-paced environment in a dynamic, fast-growing, AI-first, enterprise SaaS company, working alongside market leaders and sales teams as well as supporting other countries and regions.

Responsibilities:

  • Structure, draft, negotiate, and close SaaS, software, support and cloud contracts with customers, while collaborating cross functionally with Finance, Infosec and Customer Experience.
  • Champion AI advancement in the legal function, including management of CLM platform and agents, to drive automation of legl
  • Lead negotiation of master agreements, NDAs, statements of work (SOWs), order forms, and tender responses, primarily on company templates, but also on counterparty paper.
  • Develop and refine playbooks and corporate standards and ensure governance of contractual terms against these playbooks and corporate standards.
  • Work with legacy contracts, including reviewing existing terms and negotiating amendments to align with current terms
  • Review, draft, negotiate and help close contracts with partners and suppliers
  • Provide accurate, pragmatic, and timely legal advice across a range of commercial and operational matters.
  • Dive into other ad-hoc tasks and projects as needed, including using the Legal AI tools and working with other teams
  • Work collaboratively with the broader IFS legal team by sharing knowledge, helping out team members and sharing areas of expertise
  • Maintain a deep industry knowledge including new legal and regulatory developments affecting SaaS businesses

Qualifications

  • Qualified lawyer with 5-10 years post qualification experience
  • In-house SaaS experience in a fast paced environment
  • Proven experience delivering on a wide range of complex commercial contracts and demonstrable ability to independently handle complex negotiations
  • Experience with Legal technical tools, revenue recognition and privacy matters an advantage.
  • Proactive, “roll-up your sleeves” attitude
  • An analytical mind able to “see” the complexities, with excellent business judgement, intellectual curiosity and the ability to balance legal and business requirements
  • Flexible on working hours to suit truly global business needs
  • Highest degree of professional ethics and integrity, with demonstrable confidence when providing legal advice
  • Excellent organizational, prioritization and time-management skills – this is an extremely fast paced company with same day response expected
  • Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Must be fluent in written and spoken English. Other language skills are an advantage.
