Our client is a fast growing Canadian based retailer seeking a seasoned District Manager to join their team to manage the Western Canadian region.

This role is based in Toronto with extensive travel to Western Canada locations. As the District Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the success and profitability of stores within your designated district.

Reporting to the Manager Operations, you will be responsible for executing operational procedures, providing guidance to Store Managers and Sales Representatives, and driving sales performance.

This role requires a focus on team development, coaching, training, sales growth, and delivering exceptional customer experiences.

The ideal candidate would be open to travel across the region on a monthly basis.

The role :

  • Create and execute strategies to meet district sales objectives while maintaining profitability.
  • Drive business sales and implement initiatives to improve overall profitability.
  • Coach and develop Store Managers and Sales Representatives to deliver exceptional leadership skills.
  • Collaborate with the HR Department to arrange learning and training for new retail hires.
  • Identify specific areas for improvement in staff training and create action plans for immediate corrective actions.
  • Implement a formal progress review at three (3) months, six (6) months, and one (1) year, focusing on measurable items such as customer satisfaction, employee satisfaction, and reduced employee turnover.
  • Inspire positive sales behavior and foster a growth-oriented team culture.
  • Build a trusting relationship with your teams through purposeful visits and operational intensity to improve business results.
  • Ensure that stores within your district adhere to operational procedures and best practices.
  • Oversee and evaluate the current level of direct customer service skills of all retail staff members in customer-facing roles.
  • Develop a measurable strategy for improving customer satisfaction rates.

The Ideal Candidate :

  • Must possess a minimum of three (3) years of District Manager experience in retail industry.
  • Proven experience in retail management of a minimum of 8-10 years.
  • Proven experience leading a sales driven organization and training a team of retail sales representatives.
  • Strong analytical and budgeting skills to effectively analyze financial reports
  • Superior communication skills (both verbal and written) and effective decision-making skills
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal and conscientious / organizational skills
  • Willing and open to travel on average 2 weeks a month and work on weekend and evenings
