Maintenance Mechanic - Millwright (Southeastern Ontario) Hourly Pay Rate $46.01 Position Type Full-Time Our client is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Mechanic - Millwright to join their team. Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair conveying equipment and systems (belt conveyors, drag chains, elevators, air slides, screw conveyors, material feeders), gas-related equipment (fans, airlocks, FK pumps, compressors, dust collectors, and vent lines), water-related equipment (pumps, filters, valves), and area plant equipment (raw mill, coal mill, blend silo, preheat tower, kiln, cooler, baghouses, finish mill systems).
- Apply all aspects of the maintenance program, including preventive and corrective maintenance and reporting.
- Maintain, repair, install, and replace mechanical systems and associated equipment.
- Monitor and perform field inspections on equipment, taking necessary actions such as reporting, operating, repairing, fabricating, cleaning, and adjusting.
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
- Conduct job site assessments and permits.
- Adhere to the work order process.
- Perform additional related tasks as requested by management.
- Participate in on-call responsibilities and after-shift rotations.
Qualifications
- Millwright Certification (College of Trades)
- Proof of apprenticeship
- Previous experience operating equipment and performing maintenance tasks preferred
- Previous millwright experience is required
- Knowledge of different types of bearings in rotating equipment is essential
- Ability to perform all technical aspects of the job using necessary tools or systems (e.g., MIG and ARC welders, cutting torch, plasma cutter, micrometers, calipers, hoisting and rigging equipment, hand tools, hydraulic jacks)
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple correspondence
- Ability to work different shifts, holidays, and overtime as required
- Ability to solve practical problems and follow instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, push, pull, twist, climb, balance, bend (at the waist, lifting above and below the waist), kneel, reach, grasp (using both hands), squat, and perform repetitive motions.
- Manipulative finger movements with both hands, wrist flexing or rotating, and use of both feet and arms above and below shoulder height.
- Ability to work extended periods in the same position, perform duties in various climates (extreme temperatures), tolerate heights, lift and carry up to 75 lbs, work in confined spaces, and wear respiratory and other personal protective equipment.
