Project Coordinator Supervisor

We have an exciting opportunity for you to embrace the Project Coordinator Supervisor role for the Environmental Management team in BC and the Yukon.

You can choose which of our BC offices you would like to work from, as you will be involved in a variety of projects across the Province and Territory.

Since many components of this role will relate to environmental consulting scopes of work, some familiarity or background in this area will be an asset.

You will be a key team member working closely with and supporting our Field Staff and Project Managers. It is expected that you are self-motivated and will demonstrate excellent organizational skills (prioritizing, time management, record keeping, follow up etc. and communication skills.

What you can expect to do here :

  • You are a champion of Health & Safety initiatives, as you will be assisting with developing and tracking Health and Safety requirements and associated work plans

  • You are a step or two ahead of your Project Manager, thinking forward, being organized, and setting the team up for project success
  • You are an integral part of project delivery teams, making sure that we are monitoring and controlling budgets, expenditures, and schedules, and tackling an array of project activities such as preparing scope change requests, taking meeting notes, communicating with the team, resourcing projects, overseeing travel logistics, preparing work orders, obtaining insurance certificates, and subcontractor management
  • You work closely with our accounting team to make sure we meet client invoicing requirements and that we are being paid in a timely manner as well as paying our subcontractors in accordance to payment terms
  • You are client-focused, coordinating the preparation and distribution of project deliverables to make sure we are meeting our client objectives, as well as assisting with proposal writing and coordinating proposal contributors
  • You are well-supported by your colleagues from various disciplines and levels, helping you be successful in reaching your personal and project goals
  • You set-up field work programs, preparation of field work instructions, ordering field supplies, budget and schedule management, and project filing
  • You will organize and schedule Kick-Off Meeting(s) and recording minutes / action items
  • You will be supervising a team of Project Coordinators and be responsible for providing training, coordinating schedules, managing workloads and communicating with Project Managers about the Project Coordinator team.

What You'll Bring To WSP :

Here are some of the key things you will bring to the team :

  • You have a positive and enthusiastic can-do attitude, and a willingness to both learn and share your knowledge
  • You are self-motivated, willing to be flexible and nimble, and able to think outside the box
  • You have a college diploma, undergraduate degree, relevant schooling, or a business-related schooling field along with a few years of progressive project coordination experience
  • You have clear and demonstrated communication skills, both verbally and in writing
  • You already have a basic knowledge of project management principles and PMI's Body of Knowledge
  • You have experience working with Oracle software including, creating an opportunity number, creating a work breakdown structure, converting opportunity numbers to project numbers, preparing project financial reports and be able to troubleshoot Oracle issues for project managers.
  • You know your way around many of the software tools we might use to manage a project, but also keen to dive in and learn new skills, such as Power BI, Adobe, Acrobat, Microsoft Word, Excel and Project
  • You have worked in other similar scientific environments

Compensation

Expected Salary (all locations) : $62,600 - $106,400

WSP Canada is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it will pay for this position based on the successful applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to the specific geographic location.
