We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Product Director to oversee our Optical Sensor and Solutions portfolio used for dimensional metrology in the automotive and automation manufacturing industries.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in product management, optical sensor technologies, software, and a deep understanding of the automotive and automation sectors.
You are the product champion and will be pivotable to the success of the business.
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop and execute the product strategy and roadmap for optical sensors and solutions targeting dimensional metrology applications in the automotive and automation manufacturing industries.
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify customer needs, market trends, and growth opportunities, including TAM, SAM, and SOM.
- Collaborate with engineering, sales, marketing, and customer support teams to ensure the successful development and launch of products.
- Define product requirements, specifications, and performance criteria based on customer and market needs.
- Manage the product lifecycle from concept to end-of-life, ensuring alignment with business objectives and customer satisfaction.
- Work closely with key customers and industry stakeholders to gather feedback, build relationships, and drive product adoption.
- Develop and deliver product training, sales tools, and marketing collateral to support the sales and marketing teams.
- Monitor and analyze product performance, making data-driven decisions to optimize product features, pricing, and positioning.
- Act as the product champion within the organization, effectively communicating product vision, strategy, and performance to senior management and cross-functional teams.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements to ensure product compliance and competitiveness.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics or a related technical field. Advanced degree preferred. MBA would be considered an asset.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in product management, with a focus on optical sensors or related technologies used for dimensional metrology.
- Strong understanding of dimensional metrology applications and technologies in the automotive and automation manufacturing industries.
- Proven track record of successfully managing products from concept to market.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Experience with market research, competitive analysis, and business case development.
- Knowledge of product lifecycle management and Agile development methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Experience in the photonics, automotive, QA and metrology industries.
- Clear understanding of in-line, at-line and off-line metrology use cases and how to market to each.
- Proficiency in product management software tools and methodologies.
- Understanding of industry standards and regulatory requirements relevant to optical sensors and dimensional metrology.
