JOIN US! About the Role At Family Services of Greater Vancouver, we’ve been helping people in crisis since 1928. As a non-profit, we help people develop skills and knowledge, empowering our neighbours to create positive change in their lives.
Our team is made up of more than 420 staff, including expert counsellors and support workers who provide compassionate, client-centred care to youth experiencing homelessness, families and children impacted by trauma, victims of domestic violence, and other vulnerable people from an evidence-based, trauma-informed lens.

We are looking for an experienced Group Counsellor to facilitate an art therapy group in our Healthy Connections Program.
The Healthy Connections program provides support (individual and group therapy) to help pregnant people and birthing parents work through trauma-related issues that they feel may interfere with their ability to connect with their children.
We provide individual and group counselling from a feminist, anti-oppressive, trauma-informed, intersectional and attachment lens.

- You have completed an MSW or MA (M.Ed.) in Counselling Psychology, Art Therapy or Expressive Arts Therapy, and are registered as an RCC or RSW
- Art Therapy or Expressive Arts Therapy training
- Minimum of 3 years of supervised relevant group counselling experience with a preference for group art / expressive arts therapy skills
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Strong group counselling and art / expressive arts therapy skills
- Solid understanding of the physical, emotional and relationship changes that coincide with the pregnancy, birth and post-natal experience
- Strong foundation in trauma counselling and a solid understanding of the neurobiological impacts of trauma, attachment and family systems
- Ability to provide group counselling both in-person and / or online
Additional Requirements
- Committed to working as part of a team and working from a feminist, anti-oppressive, trauma-informed, intersectional lens
- Successful completion of a Criminal Record Check
