Job Summary

CIMT College is looking for instructors to supervise PSW placements at the respective clinical facility in GTA. This program is registered with the Ministry of Colleges and Universities.

The successful candidate would be required to follow CIMT College’s policies and procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Demonstrate a thorough and accurate knowledge of the field
• Instruct curriculum using only pre-authorized and provided materials and guidelines
• Demonstrate sensitivity to student needs and individual circumstances in a multi-cultural environment
• Resolve student complaints and concerns with a positive and professional attitude
• Maintain attendance records accurately
• Participate in scheduled meetings and annual events like graduation
• Maintain confidentiality of student privacy and information
• Stay current in the subject matter through professional development
• Display an attitude of teamwork and problem solving
• Perform other related duties as required

Skills Required

• Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and database systems
• Excellent oral and written communication to present information in a way that students will understand as well as adapt to the different learning styles
• Professional business attire and interpersonal skills to act as a mentor and role model
• Must be able to commute in GTA, as per the schedule assigned

Qualifications

• Must be a Personal Support Worker with a PSW certificate from NACC , post 2015.
• Must present with a minimum of three (3) years current, relevant work experience in a Canadian clinical environment, preferably in a long-term care / hospital / community / chronic care setting.
• Meet Instructor qualification standards as outlined in the Regulations to Ontario Career Colleges Act, 2005.
