Report to Manager of Capital Market Operation and Technology, the Investments Application Analyst is responsible for supporting Application Systems, Databases, Automated workflow processes and Integrations used in OMERS Capital Markets and Investments Operations & Applications.

As a part of the technical team, Investment Application Analyst will participate in business initiatives and projects related to core investment application upgrades, database administration and integration activities, as well as supporting automated workflows part of the overnight processing.

Excellent client service, interaction, and communication skills and the ability to perform in a high-paced, deadline-driven environment is necessary.

Job Details : Investment Application Support Analyst

Perform Database Administration duties across database servers dedicated to Investment Systems (including MS SQL Server, Azure SQL Server, and Oracle instances)

Installing and configuring various Investment systems (Calypso, Eagle Pace, CRD, Frontier), as well as providing direct support, monitoring, and troubleshooting

Develop scripts and automations for data retrieval from 3rd party vendors and integration between the systems

Analyze existing programmatic solutions and workflows and recognize opportunities for automation, improvement, and optimization

Maintain and administer application and architecture security standards for Investment applications.

Manage and support overnight investment process, including all data flow solutions and enterprise scheduling.

Manage all problem and enterprise change management processes representing investment requirements as well as maintain the change management system in timely manner.

Work cross functionally with both technical and business teams as appropriate to facilitate roll-out and ongoing support of major infrastructure and solution enhancements for investments users

Ability to multitask and deal with projects with aggressive timelines.

Demonstrate high personal and ethical standards with the ability to collaborate across the organization.

Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and external vendors with specific focus around managing OMERS Capital Markets production environment

Build and maintain documentation for all supported technology platforms and applications

Works constantly to broaden knowledge, learn new things and adapts to a multifaceted and evolving technical and business investment environment

To succeed in this role :

University or College degree, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or Mathematics is a plus, other programs will be considered

3+ years of relevant experience in position tied to database administration, scripting and work related to maintaining business systems preferably related to investment industry

Solid grasp of database technologies with the emphasize on SQL Server and Oracle, DBA knowledge of SQL Server or Oracle or both is a strong plus

Familiarity with investments industry terminology

Knowledge of programming principles and comfort with using common development platforms and languages (PowerShell, Python, VB, Java).

Familiarity with modern cloud-based technologies such as modern Microsoft Workplace, analytical tools, and platforms (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Azure, etc.)

Strong knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office products

Analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve technical issues and recommend solutions

Excellent team player with interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills to take

care of users of varying levels of technology expertise

Organizational skills to prioritize work and track the status of multiple activities
