Position Summary
To support our growth and continued innovation as a firm, we are excited to launch a new Mass Affluent Division which will provide planning and investment solutions for a new client segment.
This new division will be part of our Advisory Services organization and the role will report into the SVP Advisory Services.
As the Vice President of our Mass Affluent Division, your mandate will be to design, launch and lead this new line of business within the firm.
You have an entrepreneurial mindset and will thrive on the balance between creating a vision for what this business can become and actively leading the build out of this new division.
You will partner with various functions across the firm to support you in operationalizing this vision.
As Vice President, Mass Affluent you will :
- Conduct research and competitive analysis of the Canadian mass affluent marketplace to inform strategy and business plan.
- Create a multi-year strategy, goals and business plan including a BHAG to reach $2B of AUM by 2028. Currently, the mass affluent client segment represents just under $700M of AUM.
- Establish key performance milestones to track progress and ensure that the financial performance is accretive to the firm’s overall profitability.
- Be responsible for division P&L.
- Partner with IT to design a model that uses technology to drive efficiencies while maintaining a superior client experience.
- Partner with Marketing to develop and launch a branding and marketing platform to proactively reach and engage target new clients.
- Continuously partner with Advisory Services to facilitate a smooth transition for clients.
- Ensure that new clients of this division experience the Nicola Wealth client first culture and experience aligned with the service offerings of the mass affluent division.
- Build, lead and inspire a small team of people who are excited to be part of a new start up within the firm.

Your experience and qualifications include :
- 15+ years of related work experience in Wealth Management and financial services.
- Strong working knowledge of both financial planning skills and investment knowledge as it relates to our Nicola Wealth asset model.
You may have started your career as a Financial Advisor but realize that your career strengths and interests are more aligned with overall business and people leadership.
- Experience in client segmentation.
- Experience running a business unit / P&L
- A track record of people leadership.
- Experience delivering results in high performing client service-oriented capacity with both internal and external clients.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline.
- Chartered Investment Manager (CIM), CFA preferred.
- LLQP, CFP, are an asset.
