Research Technician II Dept of Medicine Research
The Translational Ultrasound and Photoacoustic Imaging Laboratory (TUPIL) is a multidisciplinary research program focused on advancing the clinical translation of ultrasound (US) and photoacoustic (PA) imaging modalities. TUPIL collaborates with clinical partners to test these technologies in nephrology, critical care, and hepatology applications.
We are currently seeking a Research Technician II . The role involves working in laboratory settings, primarily focusing on US / PA imaging developments. Responsibilities include performing routine and some ad hoc laboratory research activities, adhering strictly to research protocols, and collaborating with investigators and senior lab members on technical aspects of research projects. The position also involves data analysis and experiment design, building on skills from a Research Technician I role.

Duties & Responsibilities
Due to the variable nature of the position, this list serves as a guide only. It includes all duties of Technician I, plus :
Laboratory / Animal Tasks (50%)
- Establish, optimize, and troubleshoot new experiments and assays.
- Procure equipment and reagents for new research projects.
- Prepare equipment and materials for experiments.
- Perform routine experiments and assist with intermediate ones.
- Apply standards to prepare biological samples and perform experiments.
- Collect and verify experimental data, perform routine data entry.
- Maintain and troubleshoot lab instruments.
- Follow safety and procedural rules in biohazardous environments.
- Support trainees and participate in lab meetings and safety protocols.
- Record experiments accurately and assist in data reporting and publication.
Non-Laboratory Tasks (25%)
Administrative Duties (25%)
