Shift: Day Shift (Monday to Friday, Early Friday Finish)
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

About the Role
We are hiring an experienced Welder Fitter for a premier, family-owned heavy equipment and commercial transport manufacturer in the Durham Region.

If you are a skilled fabricator who can read complex blueprints, lay out custom assemblies without relying on jigs, and execute clean MIG/TIG welds, this is a long-term, steady position with a top-tier pay rate.

Advantages
Pay: $38.00 – $42.00/hour (based on experience)
Steady Schedule: Reliable day shift with straight hours and weekend overtime potential
Strong Culture: Family-run business environment with ultra-high team retention (supervisors have 10–20+ years of tenure)
Comprehensive Package: Full medical and dental benefits, paid time off, and on-site parking

Responsibilities
Read and interpret complex fabrication drawings, blueprints, and weld symbols
Perform custom layout, fitting, and assembly of aluminum, carbon steel, and stainless steel sub-assemblies (no fixed jigs)
Execute high-quality MIG (GMAW) and TIG (GTAW) welds on custom tanks, structural frames, and heavy trailers
Safely operate shop fabrication tools (cut-off saws, ironworkers, plasma cutters, hydraulic presses, and overhead bridge cranes)
Inspect raw materials and finished fabrications to ensure strict quality and dimensional tolerances

Qualifications
Experience: 5+ years of hands-on experience as a Welder-Fitter in custom metal fabrication or heavy manufacturing
Blueprint Reading: 100% fluent in reading 2D/3D fabrication drawings and weld symbols
Processes: Strong proficiency with MIG welding (Steel/Aluminum) and TIG welding (Aluminum)
Testing: Ability to pass an in-person, shop floor blueprint layout and weld test during the interview
