Job Description

Lead MIG/TIG Welder – Aluminum Boat Hulls

Location: Milton
Shift: Day Shift – 6: AM to 3: PM
Pay Rate: – per hour (depending on experience, welding skills, and weld test results)

Position Overview

Our client in Milton is seeking an experienced MIG & TIG Welder with a strong background in aluminum boat hull welding. This role is ideal for a skilled welder who also possesses leadership experience and the ability to support and guide a growing welding team. The successful candidate will have excellent fabrication and welding skills, strong attention to detail, and the potential to take on a Lead Hand role within the department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform MIG and TIG welding on aluminum, stainless steel, and carbon steel materials.
  • Weld and fabricate aluminum boat hulls and marine components to specification.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and welding procedures.
  • Ensure all welds meet quality, safety, and industry standards.
  • Conduct inspections and maintain high workmanship standards.
  • Assist with troubleshooting fabrication and welding issues.
  • Support production schedules and meet project deadlines.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to team members as required.
  • Promote a safe and productive work environment.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience welding aluminum boat hulls or similar marine applications.
  • Current CWB Certification in MIG and TIG welding.
  • Experience welding: Aluminum Stainless Steel Carbon Steel
  • Strong blueprint reading and fabrication skills.
  • Previous Lead Hand or team leadership experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to quality and safety standards.

Requirements

  • Successful completion of a practical welding test.
  • Ability to work full-time on a day shift schedule.
  • Reliable transportation to Milton.
