Job Description

AECOM Canada is a Centre of Excellence for the delivery of P3 projects in North America and is participating in every major P3 project in Canada, either as the Owner Engineer or as the Contractor’s Engineer. We are seeking a Project Manager to join our team and take on a central role in the delivery of a major transportation projects in Western Canada during Engineering Services During Construction Phase (ESDC) of the project.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Supporting the Project Manager and other senior staff to deliver projects to budget, schedule and to AECOM’s quality standards.

  • Independently manage the delivery of a subset of varied project activities.

  • Lead and coordinate project team activities and work effectively with Clients, Contractors, Engineers, Project Managers, and other consultants.

  • Coordinate design team field presence requirements to fulfill professional obligations.

  • Coordinate timely responses to RFIs, NCRs, Site Instructions, and other construction-related queries.

  • Coordinate with design teams and sub-consultants to resolve construction-phase technical issues.

  • Work with project teams to execute the established project work processes for ESDC components such as RFIs, construction document submittals, record drawings, and construction certificates.

  • Provide clear guidance to designers and technical staff to meet client objectives.

  • Communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing with the project team and clients

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant engineering discipline.

  • 2+ years relevant work experience working directly with contractors and managing multidisciplinary teams.

  • Registered with the Engineers and Geoscientists BC (P.Eng.)

Preferred Requirements:

  • Proven experience leading a multidisciplinary team through all phases of a project delivered under an alternative delivery model.

  • Technical knowledge related to delivery of transit projects.

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

  • Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills

  • Ability to multi-task combined with strong attention to detail, time management and organizational skills.

  • Commercial acumen, with experience managing project budget, schedule, and technical requirements.

  • High level of sound and independent judgment and reasoning

  • Dedicated, with an all-hands-on-deck attitude towards completing the work efficiently and accurately.

Additional Information

  • Sponsorship for Canadian employment authorization is not available for this position.

Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is $82000 to $135000.
