Job description

At Erosion Control Central (ECC), we help shape and protect construction sites across Alberta through industry-leading erosion and sediment control solutions. As both an environmental consulting firm and contractor, we partner with developers, builders, and contractors to deliver practical, high-quality solutions that protect the environment and keep projects moving forward.

Our reputation is built on expertise, integrity, safety, and exceptional service. As our construction division continues to grow, we're looking for an experienced Skid Steer Operator to join our team in Edmonton.

If you take pride in precision grading, enjoy working outdoors, and want to be part of a professional crew that values quality workmanship, we'd like to hear from you.

What You'll Do

As a key member of our field operations team, you will:

    • Operate a skid steer for residential grading and loaming
    • Fine grading for new home lots
    • Operate Bobcat mini skid steer (463 / S70) (strong asset)
    • Mark and check grades accurately
    • Direct truck traffic and coordinate material placement
    • Work safely and efficiently on active residential construction sites
    • Installation and Maintenance of ESC measures
    • Site Preparation: Prepare job sites by clearing debris, grading surfaces, and ensuring proper placement of erosion control materials.
    • Material Handling: Load, unload, and transport materials and equipment to and from job sites safely and efficiently.
    • Site Clean-Up: Perform site clean-up tasks, including removing leftover materials and ensuring the site is left in a clean and safe condition after project completion.
    • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
    • Team Collaboration: Work closely with fellow crew members and supervisors to complete projects on time and to specifications.
    • Documentation: Ensure accurate records of work performed, including daily logs and compliance reports

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of skid steer operating experience in residential construction
  • Proven experience with grading and loaming
  • Ability to accurately mark grades and work from site plans
  • Experience directing truck traffic and coordinating material placement
  • Strong understanding of residential construction practices and site safety
  • Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work effectively in a team environment

Preferred Assets

  • Experience mentoring or training other operators
  • Experience operating Bobcat 463 or S70 mini skid steers
  • Snow removal equipment experience

What We Offer

  • Full-time, year-round employment
  • Competitive compensation based on experience
  • Consistent workload with a stable and growing company
  • Comprehensive training and development opportunities
  • Health benefits and wellness program
  • Professional, safety-focused work environment
  • Opportunities for advancement and long-term career growth

Why Work With ECC?

At Erosion Control Central, you'll be joining a company that values skilled operators, invests in its people, and takes pride in delivering quality work. We believe great projects start with great teams, and we're committed to providing the support, training, and opportunities needed for our employees to succeed.
