Location: Whitewater Mountain Resort

Department: Finance

Reports to: Financial Controller

Employment Status/Type: Full Time, Seasonal (November – April) as weather permits

JOB SYNOPSIS:

Under the direction and supervision of the Financial Controller, the Day Auditor is responsible for reconciling all end of day sales for the resort and summarizing them for the company’s financial records. You are responsible for ensuring that all cash outs are balanced and that all appropriate vouchers, discounts, and complimentary products are properly accounted for.

IMMEDIATE REPORTS:

None

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Reconcile end of day sales, summarize and compile.
  • Ensure all cash outs are balanced.
  • Problem solving when overage / shortage.
  • Account for all discounts, complimentary products and vouchers, report any discrepancies.
  • Run daily sales reports.
  • Reconcile & manage main float, process change orders with the bank and drop off the main deposit at the bank.
  • Ensure all resort point of sale have sufficient change throughout the day.
  • Maintain an inventory of mountain stationery and order supplies as needed.
  • Adhere to all Whitewater Mountain Resort’s policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to all Finance Department’s policies and procedures.
  • Act as a Brand Ambassador of Whitewater Ski Resort.
  • Champion a sustainable approach in daily operations.
  • Promote Whitewater’s safety culture.
  • Assist with department Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to achieve organizational goals.
  • Embrace, promote and follow Whitewater’s mission statements and values.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / EDUCATION:

  • 1 year cash handling experience required.
  • Excellent customer service.
  • Previous experience with retail environments or points of sale systems considered an asset.
  • Current Criminal Records Check

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse team and adapt to changing situations.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills.
  • Ability to handle challenging situations with guests and staff.
  • A reliable 4wd vehicle is highly recommended.
