Langley, BC. Full-time, permanent. 40 hrs/week on jobsites in and around the Lower Mainland and Kelowna Area. $38.25/hr plus union benefits, extended health, dental and pension per collective agreement. Overtime 1.5x per BC ESA.
Duties: Install through-penetration firestop, joint firestop and perimeter fire containment systems on commercial, institutional and multi-residential sites. Mechanical (pipes, ducts, HVAC), electrical (conduits, cable trays, bus ducts, outlet boxes) and architectural (head-of-wall, bottom-of-wall, joints, expansion/seismic joints) firestopping. Read blueprints and ULC/UL listed system details; apply sealants, mortars, intumescent products, putty pads, wraps, collars, pillows; label and document assemblies; coordinate with trades and inspectors.
Requirements: 3 years' hands-on firestop or related construction experience. Able to read blueprints and ULC/UL/cUL/Intertek listings. Working knowledge of fire-resistance ratings and BC Building Code. Lift 50 lbs; work at heights, in confined spaces, varying conditions. English. WHMIS, Fall Protection and Aerial Lift certifications an asset. No formal education is required.
