CAD Technician / Survey Technologist — 360 Land Surveying

Position Description
360 Land Surveying is currently looking for a CAD Technician / Survey Technologist to join our Vancouver team of Geomatics Engineers, British Columbia Land Surveyors (BCLS), Canada Land Surveyors (CLS), and Survey Technologists. We seek a motivated CAD Technician to produce accurate survey drawings and process geospatial data. In this key role, you will draft legal surveys, topographic maps, and construction layouts using AutoCAD Civil 3D and Revit, convert GPS/total-station field data and UAV/LiDAR point clouds into digital models (DTM/orthophotos), and collaborate closely with our survey crews and project managers to deliver high-quality results on deadline.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary diploma in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Technology, Drafting, or a related field,
- Minimum 2–3 years of relevant survey CAD experience (required),
- Proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D and Revit; ReCap experience is an asset,
- Experience in processing survey field data, point clouds, and 3D scan data,
- Ability to interpret survey field returns, architectural drawings, and engineering sketches,
- Knowledge of drawing conventions (e.g., line weights) used in production drawings,
- BIM experience is considered an asset,
- Strong attention to detail, time management, and written communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Create and process survey data from field observations, paper, and PDF/IFC drawings,
- Prepare legal survey plans, as-built drawings, and construction survey documentation using Civil 3D and Revit,
- Analyze 3D scan data and point clouds, producing detailed CAD and Revit models,
- Process topographic and remeasure surveys to calculate volumes for civil and highway projects,
- Prepare quality assurance reports summarizing project activities and findings,
- Validate output accuracy through internal management reviews,
- Understand and apply building codes, regulations, and industry standards,
- Provide technical support and guidance to fellow drafting team members as needed,
- Other survey office tasks as required.
Compensation
