Job Description
Salary : $17.85 / hr
Position Summary
Seabird Island is proud to introduce the Income Assistance First Nations Youth Employment Strategy (IAFNYES). This initiative is designed to support on-reserve First Nations youth, aged 19 to 30, who are receiving Income Assistance through Indigenous Services Canada (ISC). The program aims to help participants transition into the workforce or return to school by providing mentored work placements and personalized case management support.
The objectives of IAFNYES are to provide short-term work placements that increase access to more permanent employment opportunities, support the development and enhancement of essential employability skills, and promote the benefits of education as key to labour market participation. Additionally, the program introduces youth to a variety of career options, supports access to services that assist in transitioning to and remaining in the workforce, and aims to reduce long-term dependency on income assistance.
This is an 11-month term contract. Working 30 hours a week.
