Job description
We are seeking a highly skilled Automation Developer with robust experience in Software Asset Management (SAM) and Hardware Asset Management (HAM). This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing Discovery and Service Mapping solutions to ensure an accurate, reliable CMDB population. You will play a key part in supporting asset management maturity and lifecycle alignment across diverse infrastructure environments.

Pay Rate: $49.56- $55.15/Hr

Responsibilities
- Design, configure, and manage MID Servers to support secure and scalable discovery operations.

- Develop and maintain custom Discovery probes, sensors, and patterns for the identification and classification of infrastructure components.

- Ensure high-quality CMDB population to support SAM and HAM use cases, including data accuracy, normalization, and lifecycle alignment.

- Implement and support Service Mapping to accurately define application services and dependencies.

- Apply knowledge of network protocols (SSH, SNMP, WMI, HTTP/HTTPS, etc.) to troubleshoot and optimize discovery processes.

- Configure and manage credential-based access for secure discovery across multiple platforms.

- Partner with technical teams to align Discovery and ITAM outcomes with enterprise standards.

- Monitor and improve Discovery coverage, success rates, and data quality.

Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience designing, configuring, and managing MID Servers and custom Discovery components.

- 5+ years of experience implementing and supporting Service Mapping for application dependencies.

- 5+ years of experience managing CMDB population specifically for SAM and HAM use cases.

- 5+ years of experience with network protocols (SSH, SNMP, WMI, etc.) for troubleshooting and process optimization.

- Strong proficiency in JavaScript, PowerShell, and/or Shell.

- Experience with both on-premises and cloud discovery (AWS, Azure, and/or GCP) and CSDM best practices.

- ServiceNow Discovery, ITOM, SAM, or HAM Certification.
