Essential Duties and responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day operational support for core business systems JD Edwards E1, managing incidents, service requests, root cause analysis, and escalations in line with defined operating standards and SLAs — including participation in a rotational after-hours on-call model.
- Act as the primary hands-on contributor for business systems governance execution, including ITGC control operation, evidence collection, SOD oversight and remediation, and ongoing audit readiness.
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into system configurations, enhancements, and technical solutions that align with enterprise architecture and security standards.
- Configure, deliver, test, and support system changes and enhancements — including coding, debugging, and documentation of application software using relevant platforms and languages (e.g., RPG, CLP, SQL, JDE orchestrations) — either directly or through oversight of professional services partners.
- Responsible for Incident Management, Problem Management, Request Fulfillment, and Asset Management execution at the operational level within the business systems domain.
- Contribute to the enhancement pipeline, including intake, scoping, estimation, delivery coordination, and post-implementation validation for assigned enhancements and projects.
- Support system integrations, data flows, and vendor solutions, working with architecture and business systems teams to maintain reliable and accurate connections between systems (including EDI, WMS, and ERP interfaces).
- Independently manage relationships with professional managed service providers and third-party vendors who augment the team, ensuring delivery quality and escalating issues appropriately.
- Prepare, improve, and maintain organized system documentation, including application and infrastructure configuration, business process procedures, test scripts, and knowledge articles.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives (SEA-IT CI) by identifying process optimization opportunities, improving documentation, strengthening controls execution, and enhancing delivery practices across the business systems team.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree or college diploma in Computer Science, Business Information Systems, or a related field; university degree preferred
- 5+ years of experience supporting ERP and business application platforms.
- Expertise in JD Edwards (E1) including financial, supply chain, and/or manufacturing modules is required
- Strong understanding of ITIL-aligned service management practices, including change management, incident management, and release governance
- Experience leading audit readiness and ITGC execution, including SOD oversight, control evidence collection, and remediation coordination
- Demonstrated ability to manage third-party vendors and professional services partners, including SLA accountability, quality oversight, and cost management
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills; methodical, detail-oriented, and capable of managing complexity across multiple concurrent priorities
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for business stakeholders and present findings to IT leadership
- Experience developing and maintaining system documentation, standard operating procedures, and knowledge articles
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment with geographically distributed teams and stakeholders
