We are offering an opportunity for a Java Engineer in the IT Consulting industry. Based in Toronto, Ontario, you will be closely collaborating with various stakeholders in trading, finance, and risk management sectors, to develop and implement a variety of projects.

Responsibilities :

• Architecting and developing risk applications following microservices patterns, distributed caching, and stream processing, capable of handling significant computation loads.
• Developing efficient on-demand pricing solutions, contributing to large-scale projects impacting trading and sales functions.
• Enhancing team efficiency through the development of tooling and processes.
• Gaining a deep understanding of securities pricing and risk across multiple asset classes.
• Collaborating with both technical and non-technical teams to address business and technology challenges in a dynamic environment.
• Utilizing skills in Atlassian Jira, Backend Development, Bug Tracking, Agile Scrum, API Development, ASP.NET, CSS, .NET Core, Typescript, React, and Angular for optimal performance.
• Working on risk applications involving hundreds of billions of computations daily.
• Delivering large-scale P& L and risk-impacting projects in line with business growth opportunities and regulatory requirements.
• Working in a dynamic environment, engaging directly with global stakeholders.
• Possession of a minimum of 7 years of experience in the IT consulting industry, specifically as a Java Software Engineer.
• Must have experience within the Capital Markets space
• Proven proficiency in using Atlassian Jira for project management and bug tracking.
• Demonstrated expertise in Backend Development, including API Development.
• Familiarity with Agile Scrum methodology and its application in software development.
• Experience using Typescript, React, and Angular for frontend development.
• Strong problem-solving skills, particularly in identifying and resolving software bugs.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective team collaboration.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and make critical decisions.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
