Job descriptionBachelor of Applied Science Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. 5+ years engineering, maintenance or operating experience with power distribution, controls, HVAC, cooling, compressed air systems, fire suppression Detailed knowledge of facility electrical and mechanical systems such as electrical power distribution systems, controls, HVAC, utilities, air compressors, cooling towers and bridge cranes. Detailed knowledge of Ontario Building Code, Ontario Electrical Safety Code, TSSA standards, OHSA, CSA and local by-laws. Ability to interpret and develop electrical and mechanical drawings and specifications. Experience in the use of AutoCAD, Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint. Experience working in a unionized environment. Strong project management skills, organizational skills, teamwork, written and verbal communication. Driving Required Ability to travel to the United States 100% onsite
Job Overview
- Take ownership of building and testing equipment electrical and mechanical systems including building power distribution, controls, HVAC, cooling, compressed air systems, fire suppression etc.
- Investigate and resolve deficiencies.
- Ensure ongoing compliance with health and safety, applicable codes, regulations and standards.
- Work with internal customers to provide solutions to equipment and building upgrades.
- Develop scope of work for construction projects, equipment installation projects and maintenance contracts. Support the bid process.
- Develop and manage maintenance programs
- Manage facility projects to meet timing, specifications and cost objectives.
- Oversee services supporting building and equipment maintenance, repairs and upgrades.
- Write purchase requisitions for material and services. Track requisition, Purchase Orders and Invoicing.
- Develop and promote improvements to reduce costs.
- Ensure owner’s interests are protected with respect to health and safety, cost, schedule, liability and function on work assignments
- Primary area of responsibility is within company’s facilities located in Windsor.
- Direct / supervise skilled trades on assignments as required
- Willingness to accept a variety of assignments including those that fall outside of engineering
