Summary :
The Journeyman Automotive Technician is responsible for performing vehicle repair and maintenance work with a high level of quality and efficiency. This role includes diagnosing issues, making necessary repairs, and performing routine maintenance on customer vehicles. The Journeyman Automotive Technician will work closely with the service team to ensure all work is completed in a timely manner while providing excellent customer service and upholding the dealership’s standards.
Major Responsibilities :
Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to determine the cause of malfunctions.
Perform repairs and part replacements to address mechanical issues.
Use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and fix electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic system problems.
Test vehicle systems after repairs to ensure proper functionality.
Carry out routine vehicle maintenance services such as oil changes, tire rotations, brake repairs, and fluid level checks.
Perform manufacturer-recommended maintenance services and follow repair protocols as per vehicle manufacturer guidelines.
Accurately document services performed on each vehicle, including time spent and parts used, using the dealership’s service software.
Communicate clearly with the service advisors about any issues that may affect the customer's vehicle.
Recommend additional services based on vehicle inspection findings.
Provide feedback to service advisors and, when necessary, interact with customers to explain repairs and maintenance performed.
Ensure customer satisfaction by delivering high-quality service and following up on repairs if needed.
Work closely with other service technicians, service advisors, and parts staff to provide timely and efficient vehicle repairs.
Assist in maintaining a clean and organized service area, ensuring all tools and equipment are used safely and properly.
Adhere to all dealership and manufacturer policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
Stay updated with the latest repair techniques and service bulletins.
Use protective equipment and follow all safety regulations to prevent injuries
Additional duties as assigned by manager.
Continuous Learning & Improvement :

Qualifications & Skills :
Completion of secondary school and training courses or a vocational program resulting in a valid Automotive Service Technician Certification of Qualification. Red Seal Certifcation
Strong aptitude all aspects of automotive repair and maintenance
Effective diagnostic aptitude, with strong time management skills
Detailed customer-centric approach and a team player
Strong communication skills
Fast, eager learner and team player
Proficiency with automotive diagnostic tools and repair equipment.
Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines.
Excellent attention to detail and quality of work.
Strong communication skills to work with team members and occasionally with customers.
Familiarity with vehicle software systems and electronic control modules.
