Job description

Our client, a mining company is seeking a Warehouse Supervisor to work a 6-month contract in Kitimat, BC. This is a Monday-Friday job, camp accommodation is offered.

Role Responsibilities

  • Maintain standards of HSE of all warehouse staff, contractors and visitors engaged with materials management activities.
  • Supervise all warehouse personnel in performing their duties, make the necessary job assignments and schedule workloads to ensure on-time materials demands this includes processes to support out-of-hours demands.
  • Establish Daily and Weekly Lean Routines to communicate/manage key processes and issues and drive problem-solving.
  • Manage all receiving, warehousing and distribution processes, including ensuring all shipping and logistics comply with the company, Provincial and Federal policies and legislation.
  • Maintain security of the warehouse facilities and general warehouse operations in compliance with the company policies and procedures
  • Work with warehouse team, and training department to ensure training plans are developed and tracked to ensure role competency from basic safety standards through to journeyman accreditation for warehouse operations.
  • Continuously evaluate warehouse operations and inventory control performance and systems compliance and develop actions improve and optimize.

Role Knowledge, Experience and Qualifications

  • Frontline leadership expert in warehouse operations with expert knowledge of warehouse management practices and policies and proven performance in team capability building.
  • Strong knowledge of industry warehousing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Hands-on experience with warehouse management software and databases. SAP would be highly preferred.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills across different stakeholder groups.
  • Formal Qualifications in Inventory Management or Supply Chain Management highly regarded.
