Overview
Heavy Equipment Operator – Carnaby, BC. Seasonal position at Dawson Road Maintenance. Reporting to the Superintendent of Roads. Base location : Carnaby, BC. Some travel throughout the province. This is a temporary, full-time position as a Heavy Equipment Operator.
What Success Looks Like
- Must prioritize safety of self and others in all aspects of the job
- Ability to efficiently operate heavy equipment
- Ability to read and understand survey stakes is considered an asset
- Operate heavy equipment in a mining environment in a safe and appropriate manner
- Perform daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment
- Ensure a sound understanding of the issues involving ground disturbance
- Complete daily hazard assessments, maintenance checklists, etc.
- Attend daily and weekly safety meetings and inspections, and adhere to safety policies
