We are currently seeking a motivated Intermediate Civil Engineer to join our growing Civil team in Kelowna, BC or Toronto, ON. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys technical design, collaboration, and contributing to meaningful infrastructure and land development projects.
Job Summary
The Intermediate Civil Engineer supports the design and delivery of civil infrastructure and land development projects from concept through construction. Working closely with senior engineers and project managers, this role contributes to project planning, detailed design, technical analysis, and construction support.
The successful candidate will play an important role in preparing engineering designs, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring projects are delivered within scope, schedule, and budget while meeting applicable design standards.
Key Responsibilities

Support the design of civil infrastructure projects including site grading, drainage, stormwater management, utility servicing, roads, and earthworks.

Perform engineering calculations and technical analyses related to civil design components.

Prepare engineering drawings, technical specifications, and design documentation using AutoCAD Civil 3D and related civil design software.

Assist in the preparation of engineering reports, design briefs, and municipal approval submissions.

Conduct site visits and field reviews to support design development and construction activities.

Provide construction administration support, including responding to contractor inquiries and reviewing shop drawings.

Coordinate with internal project teams and other disciplines to support project delivery.

Participate in meetings with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies as required.

Ensure designs comply with municipal, provincial, and federal engineering standards and guidelines.

Contribute to internal design reviews and quality assurance processes.

Assist with proposal preparation and technical input when pursuing new project opportunities.

Support the mentorship and development of junior engineers and technologists where appropriate.
Qualifications
-
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university.

Registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in British Columbia or eligible for registration.

4–7 years of progressive experience in civil engineering design, ideally within a consulting environment.

Experience with site development, stormwater management, drainage, utility servicing, and road design.

Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D; experience with modeling tools such as StormCAD, WaterCAD, or HEC-RAS is considered an asset.

Familiarity with municipal design standards and Canadian engineering codes and practices.

Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment.

Valid Class 5 driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites when required.
Intermediate First Aid Designation considered an asset.
