Be part of a team that delivers projects from conceptual engineering and detailed design through construction support, commissioning, and startup. Built on technical excellence, collaboration, and a commitment to safety and quality, we take on complex challenges together.

The Opportunity

We're looking for an experienced Distribution Engineer to join our engineering team.

In this role, you will support the design of overhead and underground power distribution systems, contributing to projects from concept development through detailed engineering, construction support, and project delivery.

If you enjoy solving complex engineering challenges, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and delivering reliable power distribution solutions, this role offers meaningful technical work, diverse project exposure, and opportunities for long-term professional growth.

What You'll Do

  • Design overhead and underground power distribution systems ranging from 4 kV to 500 kV for utility, industrial, and infrastructure projects
  • Prepare engineering scopes, cost estimates, calculations, and detailed design packages in accordance with applicable utility and industry standards
  • Develop distribution line designs using PLS-CADD; experience with QuickPole or SpidaCalc is considered an asset
  • Coordinate with clients, utilities, vendors, and multidisciplinary teams to support project delivery
  • Collect, interpret, and organize engineering and vendor data while developing bills of materials
  • Coordinate with other business units to support project requirements, schedules, and design integration
  • Assist in maintaining engineering standards, procedures, and best practices
  • Support permitting activities and coordinate with regulatory authorities as required
  • Resolve technical challenges while working closely with senior engineers and project teams
  • Contribute to proposals, technical documentation, and engineering deliverables

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 7+ years of experience in electrical distribution engineering, with a strong focus on complex or industrial distribution system design
  • Proficiency with PLS-CADD; experience with QuickPole or SpidaCalc is considered an asset
  • Working knowledge of utility distribution standards, including FortisBC, FortisAlberta, ATCO, Hydro One, or similar utility requirements
  • Experience with overhead distribution design and aerial communications systems using CSA 22.3 No. 1-20 and AEUC standards
  • Understanding of permitting processes for utility infrastructure projects is considered an asset
  • Experience working with multidisciplinary engineering, construction, or telecommunications projects
  • Familiarity with power system operations, installation practices, and utility standards is considered an asset
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
