Job description

Are you an experienced mechanical leader ready to take the next step as a Senior Assembler with an industry-leading manufacturing team in Surrey, BC? We are currently seeking a highly skilled Senior Assembler to support shop operations, mentor team members, and drive operational excellence within our manufacturing & logistics division.


Job Highlights:

Position: Senior Assembler
Location: Surrey (Port Kells), BC
Shift: Monday – Friday 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Pay Rate: $32.00 - $35.00 / hour based on experience
Employment Type: Tempoary to Permanent

Responsibilities
• Perform advanced assembly, installation, maintenance, and technical work on complex shop projects.
• Read, interpret, and work from detailed technical drawings, shop blueprints, and schematics.
• Use a wide variety of hand tools, power tools, and specialized shop equipment safely and efficiently.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, or electrical assembly challenges and recommend corrective actions.
• Support the Shop Lead with daily workflow management, task assignment, and production priorities.
• Provide technical guidance, leadership, and hands-on mentoring to junior assembly team members.
• Conduct thorough quality inspections to ensure all finished products meet strict quality standards.
• Step in to lead daily shop operations and maintain production momentum during the Shop Lead's absence.
• Enforce safe work practices and maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free shop environment.
• Assist with special operational projects, equipment maintenance, and process improvement initiatives.

Qualifications
• 5+ years of proven experience as a Senior Assembler, shop technician, or mechanical builder.
• Demonstrated track record in manufacturing, fabrication, or industrial equipment assembly environments.
• Proven capability to read technical drawings, build sub-assemblies, and troubleshoot mechanical systems.
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including standing for extended periods and lifting heavy components up to 50 lbs.
• Previous experience providing informal leadership, training, or peer support in a shop setting is strongly preferred.
• Ability to work on-site full-time in Surrey, BC.
