At Alstom, we understand transport networks and what moves people. From high-speed trains, metros, monorails, and trams, to turnkey systems, services, infrastructure, signalling and digital mobility, we offer our diverse customers the broadest portfolio in the industry. Could you be the full-time Security Manager in Toronto, ON we’re looking for?

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your security and risk management expertise in a cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside a collaborative and dedicated team of professionals.

You'll play a key role in ensuring the safety and security of our personnel, customers, contractors, assets, and operations. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with cross-functional teams, regulatory agencies, emergency services, and external partners, while leading the implementation and continuous improvement of our Security Program, with a dotted line to the Americas Security Director.

You’ll specifically take care of developing and maintaining our mandatory Security Plan and conducting comprehensive security risk assessments, but also managing incident response and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

We’ll look to you for:

  • Developing and maintaining the organization’s Security Plan, ensuring alignment with operational needs, regulations, and best practices

  • Establishing and maintaining security procedures, SOPs, and audit-ready documentation

  • Conducting and updating Security Risk Assessments and maintaining the Security Risk Register

  • Implementing and overseeing site and facility security measures, inspections, and audits

  • Leading the response to security threats and incidents, including investigations and corrective actions

  • Ensuring mandatory security training and awareness programs for designated personnel

  • Coordinating annual security exercises and preparedness activities

  • Maintaining strong relationships with law enforcement, regulatory bodies, and external partners

  • Protecting sensitive information and systems from fraud or malicious activity

  • Frequent travels around the GTHA required (weekly basis)

All about you

We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:

  • Degree in Security Management, Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, Emergency Management, Business Administration, or a related field

  • Security certifications such as CPP, PSP, CSMP, CTIA, or CISSP preferred

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in security management, law enforcement, military, or critical infrastructure, with supervisory experience and strong knowledge of the local/national security environment

  • Experience in transportation or infrastructure, crisis management, or working with regulatory agencies preferred

  • Proficiency in security risk assessment and planning

  • Strong crisis management capabilities

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

Things you’ll enjoy Join us on a life-long transformative journey – the rail industry is here to stay, so you can grow and develop new skills and experiences throughout your career. You’ll also:

  • Enjoy stability, challenges, and a long-term career free from monotonous daily routines

  • Work with new security standards for rail safety and operations

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and supportive colleagues

  • Contribute to innovative projects that shape the future of mobility

  • Utilise our inclusive and flexible working environment

  • Steer your career in whatever direction you choose across functions and countries

  • Benefit from our investment in your development, through award-winning learning opportunities

  • Progress towards leadership roles or specialized areas of security management

  • Enjoy a fair and dynamic reward package that recognises your performance and potential, plus comprehensive and competitive social coverage (life, medical, pension)

Compensation

The expected compensation for this role is $105,000 – $130,000 CAD per year, plus benefits and eligibility for an annual performance bonus. Final compensation will be based on skills, experience, and internal equity.
