Job Title: Quality Engineer - Python
Location: Halifax, Nova Scotia
Duration: 6 Months

Introduction

We are seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer to join a leading global investment banking company dedicated to providing services in banking, finance, and capital markets to corporations, institutional investors, asset managers, and governments globally. As a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer, you will lead quality assurance initiatives and collaborate with cross-functional technology teams to ensure the delivery of scalable, high-performance applications and platforms.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Degree/Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or any related streams
• 2-3 years of QE-related experience
• Good knowledge of Testing Life Cycle and Defect Management processes for application support and development
• Experience in any of test automation frameworks/tools and script development using scripting languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript, Bash, etc.)
• Good SQL or any Database Query Language scripting skills
• Unix/Linux Scripting knowledge
• Exposure to Helios or OCP platforms
• Prior work experience in the client's industry

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

• QA-related certifications (e.g., ISTQB, Agile testing, Mobile Testing, etc.)
• Exposure to software development in any language
• Exposure to qTEST test Management Tool

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Contribute to Test Plans on projects involved
• Perform manual testing and support transition to automation by building automation scripts
• Design effective test cases to optimize testing
• Ensure overall quality of testing deliverables/activities
• Support the implementation of the QE Program and overall QE process and standards through continuous test execution and reporting
• Leverage existing automation frameworks, tools, and artifacts to ensure the testing process is continuous, comprehensive, and fully autonomous
• Work closely with the Application Development team to integrate quality engineering mindset/concepts within the DevOps framework/pipeline
• Collaborate with QE lead/Manager to identify E2E application changes to drive QE strategies during testing
