Hours: Full-time
Compensation Range: $90,000 - $98,000

Overview:

Reporting directly to the AVP, Marketing, Communications & Paralegal Services, you will play a critical leadership role in controlling bad debt exposure, overseeing paralegal litigation strategy, and ensuring high-risk matters are escalated appropriately. If you are a proactive, detail-oriented leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and understands both the operational and financial impact of legal performance, this is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a growing organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead, mentor, and develop the Paralegal team, driving accountability, performance, and professional standards.
Oversee departmental workload and hearing coverage to ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability.
Maintain and manage an active caseload, balancing file ownership with departmental leadership and oversight responsibilities.
Visit each branch office at minimum once per month to meet with Paralegals in person, review files, provide coaching, and ensure alignment with departmental standards.
Maintain portfolio-wide oversight of arrears performance, driving timely escalation to control and reduce bad debt.
Monitor and analyze litigation trends and financial exposure, implementing proactive loss mitigation strategies.
Ensure early identification and strategic oversight of applications and emerging risk matters.
Review hearing outcomes and implement corrective action as required.
Escalate high-risk or significant matters in a timely manner.
Ensure legislative compliance and high-quality representation before the Landlord and Tenant Board and Small Claims Court.
Provide concise, strategic reporting to senior leadership on legal performance, exposure, and departmental metrics.
