Our client is in the industrial manufacturing industry and is looking for a Production Manager in the Kitchener-Waterloo-Cambridge area. Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Production Manager will manage manufacturing operations by establishing priorities and general work assignments, and ensuring tasks are performed timely and safely.

Responsibilities :

• Lead, develop, and direct manufacturing and plant initiatives
• Support new product development and continuous improvement by integrating tools into processes (e.g. Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, etc.)
• Develop systems to evaluate, score, and implement manufacturing process improvements
• Assist with the development of plant or process flow layouts to improve productivity
• Create and implement repeatable scoring metrics for all manufacturing and production operations
• Assist in training line workers in problem-solving techniques and on-the-spot production troubleshooting
• Determine optimum manufacturing processes and raw material usage
• Identify areas for waste reduction
• Consult with Quality Assurance staff on quality issues; evaluate the overall QA performance of the manufacturing unit
• Manage manufacturing employees, line workers, and other staff and ensure health and safety
• Assist with the selection of the appropriate capital equipment as needed, create business case, and then oversee purchase, installation, and start-up
• Create and maintain production and manufacturing documentation
