Job Description

Accountabilities:

  • Informing parent/guardian about the infant hearing program-screening
  • Obtain consent from parent/guardian for screening test as well as consent for releasing screening results to the Infant Hearing Program at ErinoakKids Centre for treatment and development
  • Utilizing and ensuring the integrity of screening equipment
  • Communicating screening results to the parent/guardian and discussing the follow-up recommendations
  • Maintaining competency in the testing procedures


Qualifications

  • Community College Diploma in a health related field such as communications disorder specialist or hearing instrument specialist
  • Demonstrated recent experience working with newborns, infants and their families
  • Demonstrated work experience within a health care setting
  • Demonstrated knowledge of principles of adult education
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, able to prioritize workload and work effectively with the healthcare team
  • Self-directed, independent and professional
  • Able to deal effectively with newborns, infants and their families
  • Excellent organization, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability with managing databases (i.e. Access, SQL)
  • Demonstrated experience with computer applications, especially Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint and Meditech with attention to accuracy and detail
  • Excellent attendance record
  • May be required to work and travel between all Osler sites



Additional Information

Hours: Currently days, eight hour shifts including weekends and statutory holidays (subject to change in accordance with operational requirements)

Salary:
Minimum: $31.51 per hour
Maximum: $39.43 per hour
