Job description
Our client in the Waterloo region has partnered with Randstad in their search for a Project Manager / Estimator across their Heavy Civil division. This role will includes managing and estimating projects such a municipal construction, sewer and watermain installation, concrete works, earth moving and more. This is a great opportunity for someone wanting to expand their skill set and grow within their career.

The ideal candidate will have Heavy Civil, Municipal or Water and Sewer experience.

Responsibilities
●Preparing estimates and proposals for planning, organizing, and scheduling project work
● Determining the total cost of construction project materials, equipment, utilities, and
labour
● Seek estimates from vendors and subcontractors
● Generate estimates from fundamental principles
● Manage all stages of the tender process.
● Handle bid closings and proposal submissions
● Facilitate the transition of projects to field operation teams
● Maintain a directory of suppliers and contractors
● Establish and nurture professional relationships with subcontractors, construction
personnel, supervisors, and the estimating team
● Regularly reporting to Management and keeping clients updated on the project status


Qualifications
● Minimum of 3 years working as an Estimator
● Experience in estimating principles and practices; planning, execution, pricing, and
vendor/subcontractor coordination
● Experience estimating across Water and Sewer required
● Capable of deriving cost calculations for all tender aspects
● Well versed in estimating package software
● Knowledge of MTO advantageous, not required
