Job Details
The successful candidate will have the ability to work with minimal supervision under the direction of the classroom teacher and learning coach. They will provide flexible support to students/children according to their changing needs and to facilitate and encourage independence in all areas of student/child development.
Full-time hours are based on the school year calendar, with work scheduled Monday to Thursday and on designated Fridays, for a total of approximately 32.5 hours per week.
This position will support students in Grades 1 to 9 with complex medical needs in the Elevate Medical Support Classroom. The successful candidate will have the ability to work with students with significant medical needs (in collaboration with Learning Coach and LPN). They will provide flexible support to children according to their needs. They will implement medical plans, understand warning signs and triggers related to medical needs, and respond appropriately to emergencies or medical situations. Maintain dignity and privacy, as this is a position of trust and responsibility.

Experience working with students with complex needs that includes collaboration with educational support teams and therapists, such as SLP, OT, and Behavioral Consultants is an asset. If you would describe yourself as possessing a love for all children, with strong interpersonal skills and have the ability to multi-task in a busy school team environment then we welcome your application. Preferred applicants will have a Educational Assistant Certificate.
Pay Grid Level I - High School Diploma
Pay Grid Level II (Certified) - Educational Assistant Certificate or Diploma, or a High School Diploma and the equivalent of a minimum of one (1) year of full-time post secondary course study.
