Role Responsibilities

We have an exciting leadership opportunity within the Legal Services Division (Family and Surrogate Court Litigation team (“FASCL”) for a director to lead a team of civil crown counsel in delivering high-quality legal services and strategic advice to Child and Family Services, Assisted Living and Social Services, and Justice. This role is ideal for a seasoned legal professional who thrives in a complex, fast-paced environment and is passionate about shaping legal and policy outcomes at a senior level.

  • Significant knowledge of and demonstrated experience in three or more of the following areas of law: child protection, child support and maintenance enforcement, adult guardianship and trusteeship, wills and estates, and or aboriginal law.
  • Extensive experience providing legal advice and/or litigation services within a complex public sector regulatory legal environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing, coaching, and developing high-performing professional teams.
  • Strong experience analyzing complex legal, policy, and operational issues and providing strategic advice to senior or executive leadership.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including senior leaders, client groups, and external counsel.
  • Experience leading or contributing to organizational or operational improvements, including resource planning, process improvements, or change initiatives.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to a variety of audiences in oral and written formats.
