Regional Director Job Descriptions

Scandinavian Building Services has been a Canadian leader in retail and commercial cleaning for the last 60 years. Starting as a small family owned and operated business in Edmonton Alberta in 1982 to offering full service janitorial and building maintenance across Canada today. We attribute our success to staying true to our core values of Service, Motivate, Respect, and Connect. As we continue to grow we are looking to add a Director of Alberta North to the Scandi Family!

You will be overseeing a portfolio of 32 sites across Alberta with some travel in B.C. Travel will include with some overnight travel once a month. Business hours are Monday to Friday 8am - 4:30pm with flexibility needed as business needs fluctuate. When not on the road visiting sites you are welcome to work from the comfort of your own home.

What your day to day will look like:

Reporting into Director of National Accounts and directly managing 4 Account Managers

  • Lead all operational activity within your region through ensuring deadlines are met, developing preventative maintenance methods, building new and improved performance methods and enhanced cleaning techniques and skills
  • Communicate with your team to maintain company policies and KPI's and to resolve any performance issues
  • Build strong relationships with clients by responding promptly to concerns and conducting regular check ins
  • Lead the set up of new accounts and ensure contract terms are maintained for existing accounts
  • Travel 60% locally within the region and up to 10% to a larger region

What you'll need to succeed:

  • Must have 5 years managerial/ leadership experience with mid-senior level direct reports
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience at the Regional Director level
  • Business finance experience including reporting, budgeting, and forecasting
  • Ability to lead business development efforts within region
  • Outstanding ability to engage and motivate a team
  • Traveling throughout the region is a daily part of the position so a valid drivers license in good standing is required.

  • Post secondary education in business or project management is preferred
  • Previous managerial experience in janitorial work is preferred

Additional Job Details:

  • Must be available 24/7 in case of emergency or client needs

  • Company vehicle and fuel card provided

Our interview process:

  • 20 minute preliminary phone interview with our Recruiter
  • 40 minute to an hour assessment (soft skills and personality)
  • 30 minute MS Teams video interview with the Hiring Manager and direct Supervisor for the role
