Job description

The Opportunity:

This role is designed for ambitious, high-potential individuals looking to build a career in sales and commercial leadership within one of Canada's leading consumer packaged goods companies. Reporting directly to the Multi Unit Sales Director, you will work alongside senior sales leaders supporting some of Canada's largest and most recognizable restaurant brands. You'll gain hands-on experience across customer strategy, commercial planning, product innovation, financial analysis, forecasting, and cross-functional leadership—all while building the foundation for future customer-facing sales opportunities.

This is more than an entry-level role. It is an opportunity to accelerate your commercial development, build relationships across the organization, and develop the skills required to become a future sales leader at Maple Leaf Foods.

Reason for vacancy: Existing Headcount
Compensation: $59, – $87, CAD base pay annually plus annual short-term incentive

The above compensation reflects the target compensation for the position at the time of posting. The base salary offered may vary based on a variety of factors including skills, experience, education, training, job- related knowledge, and other organizational requirements. For part-time roles, salaries are adjusted according to scheduled hours. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible to participate in Maple Leaf’s annual short-term incentive plan.

Snapshot of a Day-in-the-Life:

  • As a member of the Multi Unit Sales team, you will partner closely with the Multi Unit Sales Director and Multi Uni Sales Managers to support customer growth and execute strategic business initiatives.
  • Support the planning, execution, and follow-up of strategic customer meetings and business reviews.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Product Development, Revenue Management, Pricing, Supply Chain, Customer Fulfillment, and Finance to execute customer strategies and deliver winning solutions.
  • Participate in the development of new menu items and product innovation initiatives for key restaurant partners.
  • Build sales forecasts, analyze business performance, and develop recommendations that drive profitable growth.
  • Analyze shipment data, market trends, financial performance, pricing, promotional effectiveness, and new product launches to uncover business opportunities.
  • Develop customer insights and business stories that support strategic recommendations to both internal teams and customers.
  • Coordinate cross-functional activities to ensure customer requirements are met efficiently and effectively.
  • Support product launches through post-launch analysis, identifying learnings and opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Prepare materials and insights for customer presentations, executive business reviews and important internal meetings.
  • Improve internal processes and tools that increase team effectiveness and maximize customer-facing time.
  • Coordinate product samples for customer meetings, innovation sessions, and trade events.
  • Provide support and coverage for Multi-Unit Sales Managers as required.
  • Support additional strategic projects and initiatives that contribute to the success of the Multi Unit Sales business.
  • You'll have the opportunity to work with some of Canada's largest and fastest-growing restaurant organizations, including: McDonald's, Tim Hortons, A&W, Subway, Chick-fil-A, Chipotle, Recipe Unlimited, MTY, Popeyes, Pizza Pizza, Pizza Nova …and other leading national and regional restaurant partners.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Post-secondary education required - business focus preferred
  • 2-3 years’ work experience in a sales or marketing function
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Power point)
  • Natural curiosity and Strong analytical skills; ability to gain and communicate key insights
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced, demanding work environment
  • Highly organized, fact-based and detail oriented
  • Able to anticipate internal/external customers’ needs and proactively seek to satisfy those needs
  • Strong at understanding and building key relationships.
