HireArt is helping an on-demand, autonomous ride-hailing company hire a Network Security Engineer to help ensure the security of systems, communications, infrastructure, and data across the organization.
In this role, you’ll support the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of network security systems and infrastructure, including firewalls, URL filtering, IDS/IPS, network access control, remote access VPNs, and cloud security solutions.

You’ll play a key role in the architecture, design, and administration of security technologies as the organization continues to scale and mature its security programs and operational practices.

The ideal candidate is a collaborative and technically strong security professional with experience supporting production environments, managing network security infrastructure, and partnering with cross-functionally teams.

As a Network Security Engineer, you'll:
  • Support the engineering, administration, and continuous improvement of network security infrastructure and services.
  • Manage and maintain next-generation firewall (NGFW) and UTM platforms.
  • Support AWS network security architecture and cloud security initiatives.
  • Implement and maintain Network Access Control (NAC) solutions, including 802.1X authentication.
  • Support and troubleshoot remote access VPN technologies and secure connectivity solutions.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Information Security, IT, Product, and Operations teams to support secure and scalable infrastructure.
  • Participate in network security architecture, implementation, and operational improvement initiatives.
  • Support change management processes and contribute to maintaining a strong customer experience across security operations.
  • Travel to Bay Area worksites as needed.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience as a Network Security Engineer supporting production environments
  • 4+ years of experience in IT systems or application engineering/administration
  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS network security services and architectures
  • Practical knowledge of PKI, cryptography, and certificate management
  • Strong understanding of network security concepts across all layers of the OSI model
  • Knowledge of Layer 7 protection techniques and modern network security practices
  • Experience with AWS networking and security components, including AWS Network Firewall, Security Groups, NACLs, Transit Gateway, and VPC architectures
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Strong focus on change management, operational excellence, and delivering a high-quality customer experience
  • Ability to travel to Bay Area worksites as needed
