We have an amazing growth opportunity available in Cranbrook BC for a newer CPA or senior level CPA student. Our client is a successful group of companies who are growing and need you to grow along with them. You know of course this is the sunniest city in BC with 8 beautiful golf courses within 25 minutes of the city as well as amazing skiing.

The Mason Group is honored to have partnered exclusively with our client to find their Senior Accountant (or similar). Reporting to the CFO, the successful applicant will be an integral member of the larger accounting team. This role will provide you with the opportunity to learn about several different businesses, while working closely with the operations teams and mentoring the accounting team. The longer-term plan for this role is to grow as much as you want to grow and learn as much as you want to learn.

An in-depth understanding of accounting rules enables you to play a strong role in the month end and financial reporting process. A keen interest in technology and process improvements provides you with the aptitude to embrace change and figure out a new & better way to approach an opportunity, or create a solution.

This dynamic role enables you to provide strategic decision support to help drive the future direction and continued growth of this group as they transition into the next stage in their evolution.

Requirements

• A Canadian CPA designation or senior level CPA student is strongly preferred; however equivalent education and/or experience will be considered as well.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience either in a CPA firm and/or a full-cycle accounting role in industry.
• Strong Excel skills and an analytical mindset.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge (ASPE or PSA).
• Experience with payroll is very beneficial.
• An excellent communicator.
• An ability to demonstrate critical thinking skills.
• A passion for change, and streamlining processes.
• Familiarity or strong interest in integrating various financial systems.
• A people person who is able to work collaboratively and respectfully at all levels within a diverse work group.
